About Ringsend

A working-class enclave with roots stretching back before 900 AD, Ringsend was the point where ships arriving from across the Irish Sea would dock long before Dublin Port existed in its current form. The Poolbeg chimneys mark the skyline, Shelbourne Park greyhound stadium has drawn crowds since 1927, and the streets retain a village character that the adjacent Docklands' glass towers have not displaced. Six generations of dock-working families shaped this neighbourhood.
