About Carrickmines Great

Carrickmines sits at a busy junction where the M50 meets the Glenamuck Road, and the discovery of a medieval castle site during motorway construction in 2002 made the townland briefly famous. Beyond the interchange, the residential streets are quieter than the traffic might suggest, with the Carrickmines Park retail centre and the Luas Green Line providing modern amenities. The area bridges the gap between DLR's established suburbs and the newer Cherrywood development to the south.
