About Galloping Green South

The southern portion of the Galloping Green townland, situated between Stillorgan and Leopardstown. Like its northern counterpart, the name recalls the open ground where horses once exercised near what would become Leopardstown Racecourse. The area is now residential, developed steadily through the twentieth century, with the N11 and Luas at Sandyford providing the primary transport connections. A settled suburban neighbourhood within the broader Stillorgan catchment.
