Best known for its racecourse — where the Christmas Festival draws racing enthusiasts from across the country — Leopardstown sits at the intersection of old and new south Dublin. The racecourse lands have been partially developed, and the Luas Green Line at nearby Sandyford has accelerated the area's transformation from semi-rural to suburban. The Leopardstown Road connects Foxrock to Sandyford through terrain that still carries traces of its former openness.
